This is what I find amazing about the dilemma that is KT Cannon.
For over a year now, I have been trying, attempting, struggling, failing to come up with a conceivable story that describes how KT was first awoken to the dangers hidden beneath him. This originally took the form of a live-action short film, but due to logistics and story concerns, the live-action project was shelved and the story has been retooled into the first three or so episodes of THE KT CANNON CHRONICLES, the main story in the series (intended to eventually be an animated venture, but I may start publishing the stories prior to that in order to gain some interest…I don't know right now).
I have some sort of a beginning where we are introduced to KT and Lauren, and he first hears the voice that warns him but he ignores it. I also have…I don't really want to call it an ending since it's not really complete yet, but basically he's a changed man at the end of it all and he's now ready for whatever comes his way. I have nothing else. Especially the "kicker" moment where he is ultimately thrust into the mission (in "The Hero's Journey," a formula which provides some—but not all—of the backbone for the "Kickstart" storyline, this is known as "Crossing the First Threshold," whereas TV Tropes alternatively labels it "The Call Knows Where You Live" and "Resigned to the Call").
In short, it has been extremely difficult to conceive how KT became the sort of hero that he is. But it certainly hasn't been difficult to come up with what is intended to be the two-part finale of KTChronicles Season 1. In fact, I had a rather different story that I modified and combined with another "midseason" story I had written…ONLY THIS WEEK.
This cannot be right. Is it me? Am I trying too hard? Am I not trying hard enough? HELP…
