Rules:
1. You must post these rules.
2. Each person has to share 10 facts about themselves.
3. Answer the 10 questions asked by the person who tagged you and make up 10 questions of your own.
4. Choose 10 people and put their icons in your journal.
5. Go to their page and inform them that they have been tagged by you.
6. Not something like "You are tagged if you read that".
7. You have to legitimately tag 10 people.
8. No tag-backs.
9. You can't say that you don't do tags.
10. You MUST make a journal entry! (Duh?)
This is my second time doing this. Here goes nothing. Before I post my facts, let me answer Danielle (Sonia)'s questions!
1. Do you like cheese?
Cheddar for the win. Cabot extra-sharp is quite good.
2. Which is your favourite character that is good/neutral in Sonic & which is your favourite villain?
Good/neutral: I'd say the title character himself, but besides him Tikal the Echidna. I love her so much
Villain: Quite honestly, I think Eggman makes a great villain. In recent works, especially Sonic Boom (that's right, I said it!), he doesn't always come off as serious, which is kind of a breath of fresh air to me.
3. Favourite time of day & why?
I'm not sure I have a favorite time of day, actually
4. What occupation (job) does your character do?
This is something I've tried to think about for a long time. As I've drafted it now, KT starts the series working as an intern for an independent TV station in Crescent Heights (the city he's lived in for a few years when The KT Cannon Chronicles begins). I'm not sure how much that will change, but the station—and the media in general—will still play an integral part in KTC.
5. Is there any other fandoms you are into? If not then what's your favourite anime?
I wouldn't say I have any fandoms that I'm fully into. I have an experimental furry series I'm working on, The Mysterious Matt Johnson, so I guess I'm somewhat in the furry field as well, but nothing else yet. And I don't have one favorite anime, either. I just take anything that looks good and start watching to see if it's interesting.
6. What's your favourite film?
Again, I don't have one favorite film. I guess being a filmmaker and film buff can do that to you!
7. Is there any films you plan on seeing at the cinema this year?
There are a few. I can't think of all of them now and I haven't seen the trailers for every one, but I might see Kingsmen: The Secret Service while it's playing, as well as Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars: The Force Awakens later this year, AT LEAST.
8. Why is the rainbow colourful?
Well, I could give you two answers: it is the representation of all visible light in the spectrum and it is also the sign of God's covenant with the earth. Those are literally my two cents
9. What got you into Sonic?
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, the GameCube port of the SA2 Dreamcast game. I had first heard about Sonic a few years before, but SA2B really got me into Sonic. After a period of waning, my fan status resurged a few years ago and I started to draw Sonic fan character artwork (which ultimately evolved into my learning anime/manga styles for KTC) and I got to know Sonic fans on DeviantArt, Facebook, and eventually real life too.
10. What do you think about me?
You are so awesome and so talented and so nice!!! I know you've struggled then and now, and I know how you feel about some of those struggles. Hang in there, stay strong, stay positive, and I'll see you next year when you come over to my side of the pond!
10 FACTS ABOUT ME:
1. I am primarily a filmmaker. I produce, I direct, I sometimes write when I can get my mind focused on it. You can watch my films here and also check out my Facebook and Twitter.
2. I also compose music. My SoundCloud is presently empty at the moment, but I'm working on it! I probably should, anyway, just to have a portfolio on that end, too. Just as I have no specific genre that I would place my films in, I also don't have a specific musical style, I've done at least one piece in virtually every genre.
3. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University last December with a bachelor's degree in Communications/Film/Video. A college degree is obviously not required for work in that field, but my time at FAU would ultimately cement my path in the filmmaking world as well as the mission of my fledgling studio Cameo Entertainment Group; bring about many new connections and project ideas including KT CANNON™; and more importantly spawn my first four short films. I now know what I have to do and at least some of what I have to combat in order to accomplish it.
4. I may have mentioned to some of you that I have an extremely varied iTunes library as well. Like anything else, virtually every genre of music (with the exception of hip-hop/rap since it's just not my thing) is represented in my library. The majority of it is various subgenres of rock—primarily classic rock, though many modern acts are also in there such as Skillet, Red, and Righteous Vendetta. Additionally, there is a plethora of other songs from the 1960s through the 1990s (even a few older entries), numerous score cues from film soundtracks, and even library music intended for use in film, television, and other media.
5. Finally, I also know a band personally, the worship group Cadence. Awesome people with great music if you want to check them out.
6. I originally wanted to work in television journalism and perhaps become a news anchor. While I later shifted my focus to film, I haven't forgotten TV and other media, especially since the cornerstone of KTC is a television series. In fact, the character of Sean Coleman™, the newly-instated lead anchor at an independent TV station in the KTC universe, was created as a kind of reference to one of the things I first wanted to do.
7. I have struggled more often than not with my thoughts and feelings. I have been trying to get better at it and to be more positive about things, since that is one of the things I want to stress in my works.
8. Speaking of which: As you likely know, KT CANNON™ was originally created as a Sonic fan character series. I wondered what Sonic's view would be on many contemporary issues, but ultimately decided to create my own character (with a name I had previously used for a fictitious video game, if you can believe that). I keep using the line that KTC is not meant to be "preachy or overtly political" for a reason. Not everyone is going to agree with the beliefs that the title character and his best friend Lauren Lockhart™ (and for that matter myself) share, and I know several people who would fit that. It's just a matter of fitting those beliefs in a way that doesn't "push" them on others—if anything, the one thing I want to "push" is a sense of doing the right thing, which is almost never the easy thing; that we should be optimistic no matter what, as I mentioned above; and that there is so much more to life than we might think. You're going to see so much more of this in the weeks and months to come. I did make a promise, after all.
9. The other thing I'm working on when I get the chance is The Mysterious Matt Johnson™, an anthro-driven musical project whose exact form and direction I've yet to figure out. I originally created MJ after telling one of my DA friends that I'd do it, and later developed his series to be a "counterpart" of sorts to KTC, particularly in its musical style—i.e. the rock of KTC vs. the jazz/standards of MMJ. MMJ will have its own things to think about just like KTC. It is less action-oriented than KTC, but no less character-driven.
Side note: Prior to MMJ, I spun off the KTC character Kale‘a™ into her own project and retooled her as a jazz aficionado after viewing Ken Burns' PBS documentary series Jazz for a college class. (This was done because Kale‘a did not fit anywhere in the KTC story and also because her character was too similar in some respects to Lauren.) I am currently not working on Kale‘a, though I may incorporate her into MMJ if I can figure out a way she can fit in there.
10. I can never finish anything half the time. I just leave it half-finished and languishing for however long. Sometimes I come back to it and ultimately get it done, but that doesn't happen as often as I would like it to happen. I already have a not-so-crazy idea for a film I've been sitting on and would like help expanding. It will become my fifth short film and the newest venture for release by Cameo. I figure if I start recruiting now we can start working on it ASAP. Note me if interested. Thanks in advance!
Wow. I wrote a lot.
I'm not sure whether I should tag the same people or not. I don't even know what questions to ask. But if I do think of anything, I'll let you know. Sorry, Dani

Request boost
I'm sure a few of you out there are looking for this kind of thing, but just found an artist whose style I like and they're looking for requests so if you're interested, go check them out! Have fun!
For the record
I will remain on DeviantArt but have been limiting my activities here for reasons 100% unrelated to Eclipse (as I was an early adopter of the new look in order to test-drive it; I am surprised it took this long for it to fully replace Classic, and while it's overall not bad I feel like it is not close to ready for primetime and I can see how it has alienated many longtime deviants). Mainly, the time needed to maintain a public art feed on a regular basis is time I do not have. If you are partaking in the mass exodus from DA, you may also watch me on FurAffinity or follow me on Twitter @mattderojas @BraveworldEnt @NextGenimation or Gab @mattderojas (none of which are related exclusively to art).
The Lover of Me LIVESTREAM
As I've previously mentioned in the description of the stream art above, a livestream for the Sonic fan game THE LOVER OF ME will be going live TODAY starting at 12:00pm ET. Please join us for what should be quite a fascinating experience! https://youtu.be/XBDau73jd8o
2018 Art Year in Review
It's been quite a year for me on the art/creative front, and in some ways a personally game-changing one for me as well. Here, then, is an overview of where I've been in 2018...
I started the year with an unusual request for a fan character which I fulfilled and which turned out better than I expected. This was followed up with an outfit swap art trade—and I gotta say, it certainly proves that she can rock just about anything and still look amazing in it.
By late February, I had obtained an iPad Pro and made an alternate-universe request the first thing I drew on it. You can tell I was still getting used to drawing on a tablet, but on
